Royal Air Force Typhoon jets have joined forces with France's air force in a joint strike against an hidden munitions depot in Syria employed by the IS group, per a report from the UK's MoD.
The location, located using reconnaissance, was believed to be housing weapons and explosive materials, the statement said, and was located in hills just to the north of the ancient city of Palmyra in central Syria.
"Our aircraft used Paveway IV guided bombs to target a number of entry passages providing entry to the facility... initial indications suggest the target was engaged successfully," the MoD said.
There was no evidence of any civilian impact in the operation late on Saturday and each participating jet made a safe return, the MoD added.
The Typhoon FGR4s were assisted by a Voyager refuelling tanker.
